3 Police officers and a civilian dead in accident

Three police officers and a civilian are reported dead in an accident at Agogo in the Ashanti Akyem District of the Ashanti region.

Reports have it that the driver of the vehicle carrying the police officers lost control of the vehicle which veered off the road leading to the death of the four persons.

The vehicle was carrying about 22 police officers and had several of them injured.

The civilian who was said to be walking on the side of the road also died instantly.

The Police officers were attending the funeral of a colleague, Lance Corporal Ernest Asamoah, who was shot dead by armed robbers at Galelia near Kasoa a few weeks ago.

The survivors are said to be receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

The three bereaved officers include Lance Corporal Felix Owusu, Lance Corporal Shaibu Alhassan and one other.
