Adomako Baafi: Mills is from a Royal House; bury him in his hometown

President John Mills

A member of the NPP’s Communication team has added his voice to calls for the fallen president John Evans Atta Mills, to be laid to rest in his hometown.

Government is still undecided at the burial site for the late president even though it said Wednesday that the Nkrumah Memorial Park and a portion of the Flagstaff House are being considered.

However family members insist their son should be buried at Ekumfi Otuam where he hailed from but government insist, the mortal remains of Prof. Mills should be laid to rest in Accra by the fact that he died while in office.

According to the NPP’s Yaw Adomako Baffie, the former president was from a royal family in Ekumfi Otuam and therefore must be laid to rest as tradition demands and not to bury him in a strange land.

Yaw Adomako Baafi stated on Adom TV’s ‘Badwam’ programme on Multi TV on Wednesday that, the late President Mills even refused to live in the Flagstaff House and therefore it will be a sign of disrespect to inter his mortal remains there, claiming his (Mills’) spirit will not rest if government goes ahead with its plans.
