Henry Fatchu: PNC Can win 2012 Election
The People’s National Convention (PNC) can win the 2012 election if it does away with internal wrangling and organizes its structures, Henry Fatchu, Upper East Regional Secretary of the party has said.
Mr. Fatchu said this in reaction to recent polls conducted by Synovate which put the PNC in a two per cent point appreciation with the rest of Ghana’s major political parties.
The polls, according to Mr. Fatchu in press a release issued on Monday in Bolgatanga, favored only the PNC because the other parties had lost their sense of direction and ideas “through constant accusations on trivial matters that have no direct link to the masses.
Even though the PNC has not undertaken any serious political activity, the two-point percentage growth of the party is indicative of the fact that if the party should stop its internal struggle and organize its structures, the party will win the 2012 general elections,” he stressed.
The regional secretary said Ghanaians throughout the country had come to the realization that the PNC was the only true Nkrumahist party, which could help improve the living conditions of Ghanaians, unlike the National Democratic Congress Party (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which have both failed Ghanaians.
“Ghanaians are advising that the PNC should organize well, since they are fed up with the NDC and the NPP and that the gap between the rich and poor is getting wider and wider. Their policies have created massive unemployment and social disequilibrium. The PNC, if voted into power, will redirect these fiscal policies to achieve the desired goals of creating equitably shared wealth to bridge the gap between in the society,” he stated.
He said policies such as the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) were original PNC initiatives, which the NDC and the NPP had claimed as their own and lamented that the policies were poorly implemented.
Mr. Fatchu asked the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the PNC to take advantage of the prevailing political developments in the country to organize the party for victory in 2012.
