Ivor Greenstreet: Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom exit from CPP is a good riddance
The General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ivor Greenstreet, has told Citi News Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom’s exit from the party was because his preferred candidate for the party’s chairmanship position was voted out.
According to Mr. Greenstreet, “even during the campaign, prior to congress, Dr. Nduom even made it clear to the rank and file in the Northern region that if the person he wanted to become chairman did not win, then he would not contest or he would resign so I think all along he felt if he didn’t get his way then he’d find a way of going through the exit door. ”
“He has said a lot of things this morning, we would examine the things he has said and respond appropriately,” he added.
Dr. Nduom on Wednesday morning declared at a press conference that he is forming a new political party that will be outdoored in February. He said his goal is to provide an alternative to Ghanaians who have tried and tested the two major parties in the country – the NPP and NDC – and need an option that will transform their lives.
Meanwhile, an elder of the CPP, F. A Jantuah who has always campaigned for Dr. Nduom’s expulsion from the party has told Citi News the 2008 flagbearer’s new political movement will die soon.
“If Nduom is out of the party, then it is a very good riddance because it is Nduom who is bringing all the difficulties within the CPP,” he said.
Jantuah added: “Let Nduom form a political party and that would be his demise. If Nduom forms a political party that party would die and the party would die with Nduom. ”
“If he forms his own political party he would die because nobody would vote for Nduom for anything sake. He is using money to get people to follow him. ”
