Outstanding Ghanaian actor John Dumelo left Accra on Friday for the United States of America, where he will be launching his J Melo fashion brand soon.
The J Melo fashion brand, which comprises a jewellery line, hair pieces, handbags, casual African apparels and African-print boxer shorts was launched in Accra on December 27, 2011.
The launch in the United States of America is aimed at getting closer to his fans in the States and also supporting a good and worthy cause back home in Ghana.
The launch is one of John’s ways of giving to back society.
He will use the products to raise funds for his John Dumelo Foundation which is embarking on a school building project up in the northern part of Ghana.
Few hours to his departure, he told NEWS-ONE “preparations are far over and done with to launch in 10 states in the USA.
Hopefully, everything will go well and yield the necessary results that myself and my team wanted. I will update you on whatever happens out there.”
Indeed it was unbelievable when rumours started making the rounds that John was launching a hair and jewellery line.
But it became a reality after the launch of J Melo fashion brand at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.
As anticipated, a number of his female fans and friends in the showbiz industry turned up in their numbers to support their brother, especially when most of the J Melo designs favoured ladies than men.
The jewellery line includes necklaces, rings, earrings and wrist bangles made from beads, gold sapphire and other precious stones.
The handbags are designed for J Melo by Ani Siyah, just as the other products are produced by other designers. They were up for runway display by models during the night.
