Juventus players celebrate Super Cup win

Kwadwo Asamoah scored a sensational volley to help Juventus come from behind to beat Napoli 4-2 to win the 2012 Italian Super Cup.

The Ghana international put in a Man-of-the-Match display in his competitive debut for the Serie-A champions in the game played in Beijing on Saturday afternoon.

Juventus however needed extra time to put a spirited Napoli side to bed as twice they had to come from behind.

Edinson Cavani handed the side from Naples the lead after 27 minutes but his strike was cancelled out by Asamoah 10 minutes later in superb fashion.

Goran Pandev pounced on a defensive error to restore Napoli’s advantage before half time but a penalty from Arturo Vidal tied the score at 2-2 by the 76th minute.

The Azzurri however self-destructed towards the end of normal time as Pandev, their coach Walter Mazzarri, and Camilo Zuniga were all sent off.

Juve without their manager Antonio Conte (serving a 10-month ban) took full advantage of their additional men in the extra time that followed as a Cristian Maggio own goal was followed by a winner from Mirko Vucinic.

The Bianconeri have now won the Supercoppa Italiana five times in their illustrious history – their latest being their first since 2003.
