The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Obimpeh, has rendered unqualified apologies to all members of the ruling political party who he might have been offended during his tenure as boss of the party in the region.
“I ask for forgiveness from all my party members that I have offended,” he said passionately, adding that he was also asking for forgiveness on behalf of all the Ashanti regional executives of the NDC.
In this regard, he noted that the NDC in the Ashanti region needed to remain united and resolute to beat the opposition NPP and retain political power.
The occasion was the inauguration of the Ashanti Regional NDC Sub-Committees for the impending elections. It was graced by teeming party supporters including some national executives.
Mr. Obimpeh admitted that this year’s elections would be especially tough, charging members of the NDC to prepare for it with vigour.
According to him, without total peace and love for one another, there was no way the NDC could retain political power in 2013, admonishing his party faithful to forgive one another where there existed rancour.
The 13 sub-committees inaugurated by the party include Disciplinary, Finance, Welfare, Propaganda, Communications, Youth Working and Security Committees, among others.
In his remarks, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah, who was the chairman for the event, said unity and hard work from every member would ensure victory for the NDC this year.
He therefore entreated the NDC faithful to sacrifice their money, time and energy to ensure that the party won the elections hands down so that the opposition could not complain.
Sounding confident, he concluded that President Mills would win the elections so he could continue to lead the country on the path of prosperity.
