NPP members exchange blows in Diamond Fm Studio
Cracks within the NPP in the Northern Region continue to deepen as two rival groups within the party on Wednesday January 26 clashed in the studios of Diamond FM during a live morning show programme on which the panelists were discussing the vehicle seizure exercise embarked upon by a cross section of the party’s youth.
Citi News gathered that there was exchange of blows between Fredrick Tahidu and ex-Sergeant Karim Soldier, both NPP members in the studios of Diamond Fm.
Mohammed Ibn Abdullah affectionately called Governor of the airwaves, regular host of Diamond FM’s morning show programme confided in Citi News that ex-Sergeant Karim during his submission attacked former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama’s personality and concluded that he was the brain behind the vehicle seizure exercise.
This, according to him caught the attention of the former Vice President’s loyalists who besieged the premises of Diamond FM to pounce on ex-Sergeant Karim.
“While ex-Sergeant Karim was locked up in the main studios, the angry mob vandalized his Opel caravan vehicle which was on the list of the wanted party vehicles” Ibn Abdullah disclosed.
He added that the situation halted programmes of the station for quite some time until the police came in and whisked ex–Sergeant Karim away.
It would be recalled that a large number of NPP youth in Tamale on Monday January 24, embarked on a car seizing spree to retrieve party vehicles in the possession of the old regional executives.
The former regional Chairman, Alhassan Adoo’s vehicle with registration number GT 5141 X was impounded during the exercise.
