The outspoken Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Hon. PC Appiah Ofori has finally declared his support for the Nana Addo-Bawumia ticket if the astute economist and banker is retained as the party’s running mate for the upcoming December elections.
PC Ofori who has been a critic of the choice of Bawumia as vice presidential candidate to the NPP flagbearer said he will have no option than to support the team to win the 2012 elections.
But he suggested that chief Lepowura M. N. D Jawula should lead the Bawumia campaign team anytime the announcement is made.
Nana Akufo-Addo swerved Ghanaians at the NPP Council of Elders’ crunch meeting on Tuesday where his choice of running mate was expected to be announced.
There are other three front runners for the position, but the 2008 running mate Dr. Bawumia is the most favored option.
The other contenders are Deputy Minority Leader Ambrose Dery, a Former Director of the Ministry of Health, Alhaji M. N. D Jawula and Alhaji Harunah Alhassan, Deputy Managing Director of Metro TV.
Information is however rife that the flagbearer has again chosen Dr. Bawumia, who was a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
