Police Search For Pornographic Producer
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has intensified its search for an Information Technology (IT) specialist who is said to have had sex with over 100 women in the Bekwai municipality and filmed the act for commercial purposes.
According to the Bekwai Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Felix Kwasi Cosmos, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of the suspect, Alfred Acheson, for which the police are hunting for him.
The police have also confirmed having copies of the pornographic materials involving the sexual escapades of the suspect with many women.
Acheson, who is also said to be a computer salesman, went into hiding when the pornographic films came to public attention in the Bekwai municipality, with residents scrambling for copies to determine the identities of the women involved.
While some male adults are alarmed by the sex escapades and are eager to find out if their wives are also involved, others want to know if their sisters or close relatives are caught in the sex net.
The videos, which have found their way into many Internet cafes across the Ashanti region and individual homes, reveal a number of young women indulging in hot sex with Acheson.
Disturbed by what the videos depict, the Queen of the Bekwai Traditional Area, Nana Adwoa Pinaman II, has appealed to the police to intensify their investigations to smoke Acheson out of his hide-out.
Describing the act as a total disgrace to women in the Bekwai municipality, Nana Pinaman said it was very disgraceful for those engaged in the act to have fallen so low to allow themselves to be filmed in such a disgraceful manner.
“This revelation, I hope, will be a great lesson to others, especially those who fall for strangers and sleep with them without investigating their backgrounds,” she noted.
She said since the act involved only male with many women from the Bekwai municipality, it was important for the police to speed up their investigations to enable them to arrest Acheson.
“In the public interest, it is important for the police to arrest the suspect for them to know the rationale behind the act, so that it will serve as a lesson to women who sell themselves very cheap to any man they meet on the streets,” she said, and called for public assistance to the police in their investigations.
Sources close to the Daily Graphic indicated that the videos became known after Acheson had reported a theft case against one John Donkor, to the effect that Donkor had stolen his (Acheson’s) pen drive.
They indicated further that the suspect had used Donkor’s laptop to download the films, a development that made it possible for the materials to get into circulation.
Some of the films indicate that the suspect started his nefarious activities about five months ago, making it possible for him to sleep with over 100 women.
Supt Cosmos said Acheson would be charged with circulating materials with obscenity when arrested.
He said investigations showed that the victims of the sexual acts found it difficult to appear in public, while their boyfriends and husbands found it uncomfortable to cope with the development.
The Bekwai Municipal Police Commander called for public support to enable the police to arrest the suspect.
