President Mahama arrives in Kumasi ahead of NDC congress

President Mahama has visited all the regions in the country to thank the Chiefs and people for their support and contribution towards the funeral and burial ceremony of the late President John Mills.
The Ashanti Region is the last region the President is visiting.
Meanwhile, the NDC delegates of have started arriving in Kumasi for the party’s extra-ordinary congress on Thursday.
The congress is to officially endorse President Dramani Mahama as the party’s flagbearer for the December general elections.
Over 2,000 delegates are expected to converge on the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the event which is under the theme, “Advancing a Better Ghana Agenda; working for you”.
The General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia told Citi News, the party IS almost through with the preparations ahead of tomorrow’s event.
He said: “August 30 will be mainly devoted to the main congress and campaign launch so the day will be very packed and so we expect proceedings to begin around 10:30am and so by 1pm, we should be done with the congress so that around 2pm, we will all gather again at the Jubilee Park for the rally and the campaign launch.”
