A certain Prophet Kantle Bakarious of the Christ The King Worship Centre at Anwian Kwanta in the Ashanti region claims the winner of the up-coming presidential election will be decided by a run-off.

In an interview at the offices of DAILY GUIDE, he claimed the various presidential candidates will not get the 50 percent and 1 votes required by law to win the elections during the first round.

He added that after the first election, two leading parties will go into the run-off during which the winner will get between 50% – 57% of the votes with the other getting between 47% – 49%.

Prophet Kantle declined to mention the names of the parties that will go to the run-off or the winning party but gave the results for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 10 regions.

He gave the results as follows: “Eastern Region-NDC 40% to 45% as against NPP 45% to 55%, Western Region NDC 40% to 45% as against NPP 45% to 55%, Ashanti region NDC 5% to 10% as against NPP 90% to 95%, Northern Region NDC 50% to 60% as against NPP 30% to 40%, Brong-Ahafo NDC 40% to 45% as against NPP 45% to 55%, Central NDC 40% as against NPP 50 to 60%, Greater Accra NDC 40% to 45% as against NPP 45% to 55%, Upper West NDC 50% to 60% as against NPP 30% to 40%, Volta NDC 70% to 75% as against NPP 5% to 30% and Upper East NDC 50% to 60% as against NPP 30% to 40%.”

Giving evidence for his claims, Prophet Kantle said he had had similar revelations about the 2008 elections which he told the then president about.

Prophet Bakarious also called for prayers for the Electoral Commission, the security agencies and the media.

He saluted the media, security agencies and the EC for what he said was their contribution towards the development of democracy in the country adding that the country will witness trouble-free polls.
