Sam Pee Yalley: Kofi Adams should resign from NDC
A Public Interest Lawyer, Sam Pee Yalley has advised the spokesperson for the Rawlingses, Kofi Adams to resign from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if he cannot work under President Mills.
Kofi Adams, who doubles as the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC believes that the just ended National Delegates Congress which saw the massive endorsement of Professor Mills as the party’s flagbearer for the 2012 general elections was not free and fair.
He accused some Ministers within the NDC of using money to coerce the delegates to vote for President Mills.
In an interview with Citi FM, the Spokesperson for ex President Rawlings said the outcome of the election clearly indicates that the delegates had not represented themselves.
However, speaking to Citi News on Tuesday, the former General Secretary of the Egle Party, Mr Sam Pee Yalley slammed the comments by Kofi Adams saying Kofi Adams has insulted the integrity of the delegates by his unsubstantiated remarks.
According to him, if Kofi Adams feels he is not ready to work under President Mills, who is the leader of the NDC Party, the honorable thing for him is to “chicken out” and resign from the party.
“Kofi Adams thinks that he knows more than everybody who was at Sunyani, at least for nothing at all there were television coverage to show what took place in Sunyani. Kofi Adams should stop insulting the intelligence of the delegates who were there. The fact that he saw Ministers talking to delegates means what.
“If Kofi Adams thinks that he cannot work for President Mills who has been elected as the flagbearer of the NDC the most honorable thing for him is to chicken out rather than to waste everybody’s time with Press conferences and raising issues that he cannot even proof…if I were you Kofi Adams I would honorably resign as the Deputy General Secretary of the party”.
In a sharp response, Kofi Adams dismissed the advice by Mr Yalley. Kofi Adams said he is at a loss how a person who abandoned the NDC in opposition would advice him to resign from the NDC.
According to Kofi Adams, Mr Sam Pee Yalley has shown that he is not loyal and a committed NDC member to offer advice as to how members of the NDC SHOULD handle their affairs.
